You know football season is nearing when those college football preview magazines start coming out.
The first one I have seen is Lindy's. Published out of Brimingham, AL, the decades-old magazine that is known for its coverage of the SEC, extends its props for Colt Brennan.
Lindy's picks Brennan as their First Team All-American QB, and, projects him as runner-up to Arkansas RB Darren McFadden for the Heisman Trophy.
Methinks Lindy's has done their homework. Although other top QBs like Louisville's Brian Brohm, USC's John David Booty, and West Virginia's Pat White may be the sexier picks, Brennan has a chance to re-write the record books...the ones he wrote last season.
Also, Lindy's ranks Hawaii 19th in their pre-season national rankings, and projects them to win the WAC over Boise State (the 26th ranked team by Lindy's).
The only downer with Lindy's projections is that they rate Hawaii's stellar WR corps only 8th-best in the nation. Although Brennan no doubt is the best QB in the land, the triumvirate of WRs Davone Bess, Jason Rivers, and Ryan Grice-Mullen is the best in the land....and much more consistent than the groups at Louisville or Cal.
Will add more later as other previews come out
